2016 Concordia Baseball Winter Camps

January 10

Ages:        1st-4th Grade
Time:        1:00-2:30pm
Location:   Walz Fieldhouse
Cost:         $30

The Concordia University Baseball coaching staff and select players will provide all camp attendees with instruction with a special focus on hitting, throwing, pitching, and fielding.  Camp members will have the opportunity to interact with the Concordia Baseball coaching staff, as well as numerous college baseball players.  Parents and/or coaches are encouraged to attend (free of charge) to have the opportunity to ask questions or listen and watch all demonstrations, drills, and interactions between the Concordia coaches/players and camp attendees.  The instruction will be provided in smaller groups to ensure focused time for each camp member.

 

JANUARY 10

Ages:         5th-8th Grade
Time:         3:00-5:00pm
Location:    Walz Fieldhouse
Cost:         $35

January 17 (Pitching)

Ages:        9th-12th Grade
Time:        1:00-3:00pm
Location:   Walz Fieldhouse
Cost:         $40

The Concordia University Baseball coaching staff and select players will provide all camp attendees with pitching instruction.  Areas of focus provided for each camp member will be arm health, velocity development, throwing mechanics, lower-half mechanics, athletic throwing drills, proper warm up and arm care exercises, and developing individualized throwing programs for pitchers.  Each camp member will get an individualized video analysis.  Parents and/or coaches are encouraged to attend (free of charge) to have the opportunity to ask questions or listen and watch all demonstrations, drills, and interactions between the Concordia coaches and players and camp attendees.

 

January 17 (Defensive)

Ages:        9th-12th Grade
Time:        3:00-4:30pm
Location:   Walz Fieldhouse
Cost:         $30

The Concordia University Baseball coaching staff and select players will provide all camp attendees with defensive instruction.  Camp members will have the opportunity to choose their area of focus (catching, infield, outfield), and will be taught drills and exercises to improve in each facet.  The Walz Fieldhouse facility will provide expansive space to create opportunities for a full infield, as well as significant space for outfield and catching instruction.  Parents and/or coaches are encouraged to attend (free of charge) to have the opportunity to ask questions or listen and watch all demonstrations, drills, and interactions between the Concordia coaches and players and camp attendees.

 

January 17 (Hitting)

Ages:        9th-12th Grade
Time:        5:00-6:30pm
Location:   Indoor Hitting Facility (Annex)
Cost:         $35

The Concordia University Baseball coaching staff and select players will provide all camp attendees with hitting instruction.  Areas of focus provided for each player will be establishing the fundamentals of the swing, and lower and upper body hitting mechanics and drills to help hitters in various areas.  The organization of hitting stations will be fast-paced, and will allow for each camp member to get ample instruction and swings.  Instruction will be tailored to the individual’s specific hitting needs.  Parents and/or coaches are encouraged to attend (free of charge) to have the opportunity to ask questions or listen and watch all demonstrations, drills, and interactions between the Concordia coaches and players and camp attendees.
